The way to look your best is to dress for your body type. There are only 2 types…..an apple or a pear. Even when you gain or lose weight, you will always keep your type. Learning what your type is and how to dress for it can make you happier, dress easier, and less stressed!
Apple body: An apple carries your weight in the upper 1/2 of your body and you have thinner legs. By keeping your legs looking thin in slim pants or jeans can help you look pounds thinner. Consider wearing tops that are fitted but not tight. One trick for tops is to wear a cardigan or jacket over your tank or tee. Sometimes apples think they will look thinner if they wear fuller tops, but actually you can look heavier. Try on things in both of these categories and you will see the difference. The thin leg pants is the key. Wearing a column-of-color (same color head to toe) is also a slimming look for apples. Then add another color for a jacket or sweater. Black tops are a very slimming look. Wear a black under top everyday if you want. That will keep your apple shape slimmer. Apples look good in slim skirts. Sometimes a slim skirt needs to be wedged slimmer at the knee to look best. Trust your store where you shop about this, or have a good alteration person to help.
Pear body: A pear is thinner in the upper 1/2 of your body and has fuller hips. Keep your top 1/2 fitted and wear fuller leg pants. They need to fit, but not be too tight. A flare leg in the pant helps even out your hips. Sometimes pears think they need to try to “hide” their hips with longer tops. When actually you can look leaner by wearing tops that come to the hips instead of longer. A skirt shape that is good for a pear is fit-and-flare. That means it is fitted in the hip area and flares at the knee. This is a great way to even out your shape.
Whatever your body type, embrace it. Learn to dress for it. The women who look the best know their body type and dress accordingly. When you find your fit that’s best for you, stick with it. Just because a style looks great on your friend, doesn’t mean it is right for you. When you look good, you feel good about yourself. When you feel good about yourself, you look good. Find your sense of style!

Hello everyone! I appreciate all your comments and suggestions. Thank you for reading!
Today I will be addressing accessories. An accessory can make an outfit. And lack of an accessory can leave you looking ordinary rather than extraordinary! Accessories for spring can be statement neckaces (larger, chunkier are statement necklaces), or they can be thinner, but layered. If you have a bead trim on a neckline, just add an earring. No necklace necessary. Another great accessory piece is a scarf. They are not for warmth, but for “the look”. Do not wear a scarf and a necklace. One at a time will do. Another way to accessorize is with a smart handbag. The matching your outfit is out. The accenting the outfit is in A colored bag in the spring & summer is good. Metallic bags are always good. The size of the bag is your choice. A mantra at market when we are shopping for handbags is “the larger the bag, the smaller your butt looks”!!! Not sure if this is true, but sounds good! There is not a right or wrong about size. Handbags are very personal, so your choice. Some people like to change their bag often. Others like to carry the same one a season. Here again, your choice. Carry yourself and your bag with confidence. That is your best accessory!
Brights will be seen for spring! As well as black, of course. A new group from Conrad C Collection arrived today. The colors are cantalope and light grey. Great tunic cardigans, tunic blouses, as well as tees and a modern jacket. It seems we are all looking for a new modern look for the season. That can mean a new color, a new silhouette, or straight leg pant. Choose the looks that are right for your shape, your personality, and your age. Nancy’s offers selections for all ages and looks. Make it yours!
New Seasonal Whispers bracelets are here! If you don’t know about these bracelets, let us show you. They are jeweled bangles that look best when worn together. Seasonal Whispers also offers necklaces and earrings. Can’t wait for you to come see the new ones.
The weather dictates this, but we do believe you should stop wearing winter clothes the end of February. In March start looking a little “springier”.
